We knew our remaining time with her would be short, so we have spent the last month spoiling and loving her. One night earlier this month she played in the snow and ate, not only her dinner, but an extra helping of bologna! The next morning it was clear that the tumor in her spleen was bleeding and that her time was near. I laid with her for about an hour and then we took her to the vet for her final journey. She did not suffer and her passing was very peaceful. I miss her terribly, but I know she had a happy life with us. St. Patrick's day would have been her 10th anniversary with us. I think we will have to eat an extra helping of corned beef in her honor this year! We miss you, Bobo!Haicooohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01616532882849942032noreply@blogger.com27tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34181558.post-39832634320059695022009-01-16T08:30:00.003-05:002009-01-16T09:22:51.873-05:00A little girls birthday wish.... Priceless!I received this wonderful story in my e-mail yesterday. What a sweet girl! If anyone wants to help make this little girl's birthday extra special, please make a small donation to help homeless animals in her town!

This sweet little girls name is Gloria Kaitlyn Haywood and she will be 8yrs old on Monday Jan 19th. All she wants for her birthday is to help the homeless animals in Hartwell. Her wish is not to have presents for herself but to have donations made to the Hart County Humane Society as well as adopting out 9 animals at her party. One for each year of her age and one to grow on. The principal of her school, North Hart Elementary has sent out flyers to all the students and Salley McInerney, Anderson Independent Mail, has a story in today's paper, so we hope to have quite a crowd to help this very special little girl make her birthday wish come true. The party is on Monday Jan 19th from 1pm to 6pm at the Pet Villa, 4074 Anderson Hwy., Hartwell Ga.

Gloria Kaitlyn Haywood - birthday girl
Raymond (Ray) Haywood - father 706-371-5009
Lois Haywood - grandmother 706-436-3315
Donna Madkif - Pres. Like many, he has also fallen on hard times
financially. He must move ......
He must also lose another family member, Juna, his sibe.

His sister contacted me, he can no longer afford a phone.
His electricity is being turned off soon, maybe today. He
has taken Juna to vets, etc. in the hopes of finding her a
home, but nothing. He needs to get out to XXXXX and
establish residency to receive the medical care he needs.

We need to bring Juna in now.

Juna is eight years old and a pampered baby. Wow...some cool things have been arriving at our house!

Here I am helping to make sure that the table is properly positioned for photo-taking purposes. Anywoooooo...here is a peek at some of the items that have been donated to mom (there are bunches of other things at other sibe's houses too):

This beautiful necklace is sterling silver and turquoise. It was donated by our friend Donna Wolfe and I'm pretty sure that mom is going to have a tough time giving this one up! She has already tried it on three or four times!

Check this out!!! Dona also donated this super-cool necklace!!! Isn't that great...do you think it would look good on me? Maybe I'll get mom to take a picture of ME wearing it. Do yoou think that would make even more people/sibes want it?

Now this is REALLY cooooool! I know it is a bit tough to see in the photo (mom's gonna have to get the better camera out I think) It's a collar for humans made out of porcupine quills! Why do humans get all of the really great stuff?

Donna also donated this amazing Charoite stone set in sterling silver!!! Charoite is a stone found only in Siberia and it is thought to have healing powers.

Donna donated a ton of other jewelry as well...wait until your humans see it all!!!

Here is something for all of my sibe buddies out there! Donna Casella has arranged with Candy from Pettoycrates to donate a CUSTOM one of these for the sibe whose human wins the auction!!! How cool is that!!!!

And how about a "Hairy Connick Jr." signed print!!! This was donated by Joni and will look fabulous hanging above anysibe's bed or crate!!!

Money from this auction will help pay for eye care for a young sibe named Bravo, who is developing cataracts and will most likely require surgery...not to mention that in the past week, two more MaPaw sibes have been diagnosed with eye conditions! Dunkin is in the early stages of Glaucoma and Christie has an eye issue that we are in the process of having evaluated.

OK..that was a lot of work....I need a snooooooooze....

Later!
Harley

PS...be sure to check out the Ramb-a-Lamb bag that our good friend Karen will be donating!Haicooohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01616532882849942032noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34181558.post-51893584487988889902008-02-08T22:31:00.001-05:002008-12-11T19:54:01.394-05:00Long lost uncle? So I was pawing around on mom's computer and look what I found... I lived with him from the time I came into rescue at 4 months until I went home 3 months later! He was the guy I looked up to...and one of the only guys I NEVER tried to push around...even when I got bigger than him!!!

So...if you want to get organized, help rescue, and have the picture of one great sibe (and a whole lot of other ones too), order a MaPaw 2007 calendar today!!! Click here!Haicooohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01616532882849942032noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34181558.post-1164760543490521132006-11-28T19:28:00.000-05:002006-11-28T19:35:43.506-05:00Looks like I can pinch more than an inch!Harley here... Mom and dad took me for my yearly exam and it looks like all of the extras passed tome by the mini bi-ped are paying off...I gained 9 pounds!!!!

That puts me at a whoping 99 pounds! Keep in mind, I am VERY tall...mom says I am crossed with great dane <wink>.

Now Flora...she's a bit of a chunk! When she came to our house as a foster sister, she was so skinny that she could squeeze out next to the gate (silly girl would get out and want nothing more but to get back in!!!) Then THEVET found out that she had a very bad infestation of tummy bugs!!! After they got cleared up, FloFlo puffed up like a balloon...ok...a ballon filled with butter...Mom has been trying to keep her on a diet but she just never loses any weight! Flora is also very tall...and she has big bones... LOL!!!!

I'm pretty sure I heard Mommy say something about EVERYSIBE going on a diet after the howlidays...I don't like the sounds of that at all...I guys I better make the most of it until then!!! See ya'll 'round the dinner bowl!
--Har!Haicooohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01616532882849942032noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34181558.post-1160786377828091222006-10-13T20:33:00.000-04:002006-10-13T20:39:37.840-04:00Happy --early-- Halloween!!!Hey everysibe (Harley here)...look what I carved!!! We still miss her sweet face and her sily little dance when Daddy got home. Frosty was a sweet old girl who was turned in to a kill-shelter, when she was 12, by her family, because they were moving. Frosty sat and waited for over a month for someone to come and take her home...but no one did. She was old and not so beautiful any more. On the day we brought her home, she was so sad and lonely that she literally looked like she was ready to curl up and die.

I don't think Frosty's family meant to do something so horrible to her. Lots of people don't understand that and animal "shelter" can be a place that many, many animals die...because nobody wants them and there is just no space for them all.

Frosty had 2 very happy yearrs with us, filled with love and fun. We jmiss you every day!Haicooohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01616532882849942032noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34181558.post-1158589629088680652006-09-18T09:20:00.000-04:002006-09-18T10:27:09.296-04:00A true sibe friendOur new buddy MoonShadow tagged us. We save $$$ on heating oil! We do an extra good job keeping the bi-peds warm when it is cold outside!

2. I really, really wanted one of my very own! I used to visit the one named Jada who was sometimes down the street with her grandparents, but I was never allowed to bring her home. So I hoped and I hoped and then one day...surprise, mom and dad brought home one just for me. She was all cute and little...but then, she started to grow, and move...real fast!!! Now, she is everywhere!!! And she runs around the house yelling, "BoBo, BoBo, BoBo!!!" That's ME!!!! It's fun, but wow is it a lot of work! And, not only do I have to be a dog and take care of all of my dog business, she thinks that I am a HORSE!!!! Who ever heard of a black and white, blue-eyed horse???

Well, I guess it is worht it because she does give the best hugs...oh yeah, and she drops a LOT of food on the floor!!!!!
Haicooohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01616532882849942032noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34181558.post-1158242068050536272006-09-14T09:39:00.000-04:002006-09-14T09:54:28.060-04:00Harley builds a rescue blogHarley: Mom taught me a little bit of HTML, so I put my new skills to work and built a blog so that the sibes in MaPaw Siberian Husky Rescue could tell everysibe about what's going on with them. There are a bunch of great sibes at MaPaw right now! And I know a thing or two about what it's like to be a rescue dog because I was one for a little while. When I was just a little puppers, my humans chained me up and taped my mouth shut with duct tape...they said I was too noisey! Well, some very nice people wearing uniforms came and saved me! Eventually, I made my way to rescue...and the rest is history!!! So check out the new blog! I hope you like it!!!Haicooohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01616532882849942032noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34181558.post-1157928938500182082006-09-10T18:53:00.000-04:002006-09-13T08:39:14.833-04:00CybersibesHello!!!
We are the Cybersibes...Juno, Harley and Flora.
Welcome to our blog!

Juno: I am Juno...the alpha member of the Cybersibes.
